Almond Glassworks was founded by Bruce Hutton in 1994. Since then, the business
has taken on a great number of projects for both residential and commercial clients,
designing new windows and completing major restorations. Almond Glassworks is one
of the few studios in the country practising the art of glass painting, and our growing
client list is a testement to our level of commitment and knowledge of our industry.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Bruce provides the creative direction for every project. Time spent studying at Monash
University along with the experience gained working in Europe, sees him well equipped
to complete a great variety of projects.

STUDY
Chisholm Institute (Monash University) Melbourne. Bachelor of Fine Art
(Stained Glass Major) - Completed 1988.

Graduate diploma in 1996 focusing upon restoration / conservation techniques of stained glass.

Monash University Graduate Diploma of Ceramic Design- (Conservation
of Stained Glass major). Completed 1997.

Conservation / Restoration

Flinders Street Station - Restoration to the painted glass. (4 month project).

Parliament House - Restoration of light fittings (front steps) and internal decorative glazing. Library dome restoration.

Ripponlea Mansion - Conservation and restoration works to stairwell and front door windows.

Ormond Collage - Restoration of damaged painted windows and leadlight. Design and installation of collage crest windows.

The Old Mint Building, Williams Street Melbourne - Restoration to damaged hand painted side light and door panel.

Australian Club - Conservation work to acid etched dome. Substantial restoration works to dome two years later.

2&4 Treasury Place - Recreation of double acid panels.

Conservation works to three pieces in the collection of the
National Gallery of Victoria.

Werribee Park Mansion - Stairwell and door panel conservation work. Fabrication of light fitting.

Christ Church St. Kilda - Restoration of substantially damaged painted window. Restoration of two complicated painted windows. Various other works.

Melbourne Town Hall - Restoration of Council Chamber Windows. Five windows 1.8 x 4 metres.
